Here at BTR, we’re constantly trying to bring you the absolute best in indie music. It’s not an easy task, but we’re bringing you more and more every week. This coming Tuesday (March 6th) is going to be extra special, as we will premiere a live recording session with Alexi Murdoch, from Blue Ribbon Studios in NYC.

Perhaps you recognize the name? After hearing his voice, we can almost guarantee you’ll recognize his sound. The man boasts an impressive resume! His music has been featured on TV shows such as The O.C., One Tree Hill, and Prison Break. His stand-out track “Orange Sky” can be heard as part of the incredible lineup of songs featured in the 2004 film Garden State.

Aside from all the soundtrack success, Alexi holds the title of Best Selling artist ever on CD Baby; a major triumph for any aspiring indie artist. The best part about this guy is that he’s done it all by himself. He really is an inspiration to all the unsigned artists out there trying to make it on their own. He’s proof that in this age of technology an artist can take control of their career without the interference of labels and executives.
