“No.”

That was the response received after asking Orlando rockers Band Marino to divulge the story behind their name. I suppose we’ll just have to wait to find out if it has anything to do with NFL Hall of Famer Dan Marino, former quarterback for the Miami Dolphins.

Unsurprisingly, the name recently caught the attention of ESPN, whose staffers chose the band to represent Florida in a one-on-one battle of the bands on September 15th. And although it’s most likely the name that initially attracted the sports giant, it’s the charismatic quality of Band Marino’s live show that must have sealed the deal.

BTR sat down with the band and got the details on the movie they scored, the upcoming ESPN gig, and their soon to be released debut album.
